Begin The Process

Every veteran coming to our Pittsburgh office meets with Mary and Amorette, while those in Johnstown will meet with Beverly. They will sit with you to assess your needs and help to determine which of our programs can provide you with the best services. Although they appreciate making an appointment with you for the initial interview, walk-ins are welcome.

Typically, the initial interview lasts approximately one hour, during which time the case manager and the veteran will discuss the veteran's housing, employment, medical, family, and financial concerns. Often times a veteran will come to the agency for one concern and after the interview acknowledge there are other areas that VLP can provide assistance. At the conclusion of the interview, the client will be referred to the appropriate case manager for program registration and service plan development. The staff at VLP believes working as a team with the veteran is the best and most successful way to provide needed services.

In order to qualify for services, you must provide proof of you or your immediate family member's veteran status. VLP accepts the DD-214 form, VA Medical Card, or Statement of Service. If you do not have one, VLP will work with you to obtain a copy of the needed form.
