VLP can assist Veterans who are facing eviction, received utility shut-off notices or experiencing some other crisis that would cause them to become homeless.

Thanks to community partners and donors, VLP operates a number of programs to provide relief to Veterans experiencing a housing crisis.

United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania: Home Matters Coalition
With financial support from United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania, VLP can provide direct assistance with utilities, housing, counseling transportation, financial education and more.

Allegheny County Children Youth and Families (CYF) Family Stabilization
For Veterans with children under the age of 18, VLP can help families continue to provide stable homes for their children.

Utility Assistance
During the winter months, Veterans can apply for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and Dollar Energy utility assistance programs at VLP’s office. VLP can also help Veterans and their families apply for the Customer Assistance Program (CAP), which lowers monthly utility bills.

For more information on eligibility and availability, please call VLP’s offices at (412) 481-8200.
