On Saturday, August 13th, Senator Jay Costa will hold a free shredding event to recycle all confidential documents you no longer need. These documents can include Social Security, expired credit cards, credit card or bank statements, credit card applications, bank account numbers, cancelled checks, income tax forms, insurance records, medical and retirement/pension fund information.

Senator Costa is also asking all attendees to bring donations for local Veterans in need. Below is a list of essential items that Veterans in our Housing and Employment programs could benefit receiving.

  • Bed linen sets (twin and full size with pillows)
  • Bath and kitchen towels
  • Bath accessories including bathroom rugs and shower curtains
  • Hygiene items
  • Socks and underwear
  • Cleaning supplies including mops, brooms, and cleaning products

This shredding event is to raise awareness and to promote prevention from consumer fraud and identity theft. This shredding event will give individuals the opportunity to have unneeded documents destroyed FREE of charge. Document shredding will occur onsite and the shredded paper will be recycled. This event is open to individuals only. Three boxes are limited her car.
