2016-honorees-with-screenA Tribute to Veterans
For the past 25 years, VLP’s A Tribute to Veterans has brought together honorable Veterans, well-known business leaders, and dedicated supporters of the Veteran community on the Thursday before Memorial Day. Each year, nearly 600 guests attend A Tribute to Veterans to honor all of the men and women who have served in our military, their families and friends who stand by them, and those who work in our community to support them.

On June 30th, 2018, 19 Veterans & supporters bicycled 335 miles from Pittsburgh to Washington, D.C. to raise money and awareness for local Veterans on 4th of July weekend. In just four months, the group raised more than $26,000.

Thanks to the terrific turnout and an already high level of interest for the 2017 ride, we are expecting a 100 person team to raise over $100,000 for our 335 Miles for Veterans 2017 event. Stay tuned for details!

Imagine a group of 60 people tackling the Pennsylvania Laurel Highlands Trail for a 3-day, 70+ mile extreme hike with a full gear pack – welcome to The Crucible Hike. This 3-day extreme journey through some of Pennsylvania’s most spectacular scenery is not for the faint of heart, but your life won’t be the same after you’ve participated. It’s a journey of passion, determination and personal triumph, as much as it’s an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of local Veterans who are in need of housing and employment services.

In 2016, VLP had 98 participants join us for September 11th weekend, raising more than $76,000.
